My cousin in TN - forrealone - 10-05-2024

I cannot believe I have so many prayer requests!  So many tragedies and sadness.....

My sister just let me know that our cousin Josephine (my Dad's sister's daughter), who is in her 80s and taking care of a mentally challenged granddaughter lives in the northeastern mountains of Tennessee.  From Helene, she has no water, no heating and air, no power and no wifi.  She has to go into town (not sure how far from town she is and how she gets there) to get supplies, if there are any available.

Please pray for her and her granddaughter as well.  I am going to make some calls and emails and texts to see if anybody knows anybody that might can check on her.

God bless you family!

I was wondering if our web of family and friends included anyone in that area. May the Lord grant mercy and safety.

I've been meaning to post here about that. Linda knows a bit about it through our texting.

My niece, Alison, and her boyfriend were in Asheville and they got hit hard. Their apartment was on the first floor and got completely flooded. I believe they lost everything. Her car is gone, but thankfully her boyfriend's is fine. They were able to stay a few days with friends on one of the higher levels of their apartment building. They were without power for a few days.

Anyways, long story short...their landlord moved all the tenants to a new place nearby that he owns, that wasn't hit nearly as hard. So they are doing fine, with electricity and running water. Alison's mom (my sister) and dad are driving down from MA this Sunday to deliver furniture and whatnot, forgoing their NM vacation that they had planned. We've all been pitching in with things. money, etc., so she and her boyfriend are all good right now. It's too bad it had to happen and they had to go through all that, but it ended with lots of blessings.

This is going to be a very tough time for folks with no friends and family to help them recover. It's a reminder of just how precious is the treasure of the tribe.
