Solar Killshot Survival Guide - jaybreak - 09-17-2023 Thought I would make this available to everyone here. It's a short PDF from the solar kill shot social network (not free--you have to pay a monthly fee to be a member) describing how we might be able to survive the likely-inevitable micronova. It's dealing with probabilities of what could happen...we don't have much direct observational evidence of any of this. Good to print out and have on hand, just in case. I've read stuff that indicates that the accretion of excess dust on the sun should be visible long before we hit the micronova point, so it bears watching. Wonder if the beginnings of dust accretion would be visible through a low-tech sun-watching method--thinking the binocular-paper idea and things like that. After the next Carrington, we're not gonna be able to use our current methods, obviously. Something to look into (haha) and plan for. |
