Please pray for Lyn and his son - forrealone - 08-11-2023 Lyn's son, Joe, just came by to pick up some vegetables I had cooked and frozen last month and he had some not so good news. Lyn has fallen twice in the last week, cannot get around very well, has an infection of some kind, his bloodwork is not good and he WILL NOT go to the doctor. I understand why he would not want to be in the hospital again for sure, but I am concerned. We all need to pray for Joe. He looked very overwhelmed. I told him that I was here for him. That if something happens to his dad (I didn't say "die", but he knew what I meant) that I am here for him and would help with whatever he needs. I told him I know exactly what needs to be done and how and who and where..... He looks so sad, and I, well, he needs our prayers - for strength, for patience, for guidance, for wisdom, for compassion - for all those things that a person needs when they are taking care of someone. Joe is all Lyn has and vice versa. Don't know what one would do without the other. Especially with Lyn being in such bad health and with Joe having to go to work. They cannot afford a caregiver and I doubt if Lyn would want a stranger in his house. Anyway, we have SO MUCH to be grateful for. Wish there was something more I could do for him/them. Thank you family for being there when the light shines and in the dark hours as well. Love you all! RE: Please pray for Lyn and his son - davew9804 - 08-12-2023 Prayer being lifted for Lyn, Joe and you asking for the Holy Spirit to send ministering angels to all involved along with "strength, patience, guidance, wisdom and compassion". Blessings to you Linda for your caring spirit! RE: Please pray for Lyn and his son - Ed Hurst - 08-12-2023 May the Lord have mercy on Joe and Lyn. RE: Please pray for Lyn and his son - jaybreak - 08-13-2023 Praying for Lyn and Joe today. Thanks, Kinda. RE: Please pray for Lyn and his son - forrealone - 08-13-2023 Good news! Sort of. I received a text from Joe just now that he "forgot to tell me that he took his dad to the hospital the other day". Not sure if that means Friday or yesterday, but at least Lyn is at the hospital in Raleigh that is MOST preferred by me. (:^). Lyn is on IV antibiotics and right now he is being taken for a stress test. How long he will be in hospital is unknown. I will do my best to go see him tomorrow after I talk to his nurse and find out when any tests may be scheduled so my visit is timely for Lyn. Joe said Lyn would probably enjoy some company, so you know I will do all I can to go. It is about a 35-40 minute drive, so not too bad. Thanks for your prayers. Now, to pray for the doctors and all the medical staff to have compassion and patience and serious wisdom from God! RE: Please pray for Lyn and his son - Ed Hurst - 08-13-2023 Thanks for the update. It sounds like you and Joe aren't ready for Lyn to go yet. May the Lord have mercy on him. RE: Please pray for Lyn and his son - forrealone - 08-14-2023 Since Lyn was in the hospital for those several months last November thru Feb of this year, I have expected him to pass at any time. However, he has been going to his shop where he piddles and invents electronic gadgets that he markets. It's just these last two weeks that he has gone downhill. Dialysis patients can only drink 20-30 oz of fluid a day, depending on different calculations. I think he became very dehydrated since he was retaining that fluid and his ankles were very swollen. TMI, I suppose. Sorry. In any case, I don't "hold on" to people when they may die. I put all that in the Lord's hands. So, I will be okay should Lyn pass. Sad, but okay. His son has no one else (hence the reason I had that talk with him); it will be really hard on him. |
