They worked through a different process. Today my credit rating shot up to over 700 and we are in. Veterans United issued us a letter pre-approving us for a substantial amount. We can begin house hunting, and the same outfit will hand us off to a realtor specializing in VA loans. We have taken the advice to look at those in foreclosure or related distress so that we can simply take over payments (usually lower than current rates). Just waiting on the Lord to show us the place, now.

Oh, i am so excited.  A big ol' smile came upon my face, my heart did little leaps of joy and.....  yes, excited.

Praise the Lord from Whom all blessings flow.

And thanks so much for sharing.  We can all use all the good news we can get our hands on !     Big Grin

Hey, that's great news! Still praying for the situation. I also have a prayer request I am going to post about, along these same lines (for someone else).

RE: Rehoming - davew9804 - 07-02-2023

That's certainly good news Ed. Evidence that the Lord is working on your behalf. Prayer will continue for the right house to be revealed...

RE: Rehoming - Ed Hurst - 07-08-2023

Thank you for your prayers. Wisdom and guidance are more important than stuff.

We've look at one house and it was a prime moment to talk to the realtor. The market is currently against us. It would take between $5K-10K upfront to get a house in our part of the world, and that's with the VA loan exemptions. Moreover, the payments would still be out of our reach, even with the help from my son. (Pray for him, too; he's currently jobless.)

Our next step is to back out of this stuff and select a better rental for the next year. It would take us at least that long to save up the initial expenses.

RE: Rehoming - jaybreak - 07-08-2023

That's too bad to hear, but at least you're not left with a last-minute choice to make. Do you have any leads on rentals?

RE: Rehoming - Ed Hurst - 07-08-2023

Several. It's just a matter of deciding which is the most tolerable.

RE: Rehoming - forrealone - 07-08-2023

I lift you all up in prayer that Father will open whatever door(s) He wills to provide you with what you need.

RE: Rehoming - Ed Hurst - 07-11-2023

Last night it rained very heavily. The sewage backed up into our tub. The leaky window leaked, as usual. I was up in the wee hours cleaning up the mess. So, we found a better apartment complex a couple of miles away. It's everything our current residence is not: larger, 2-bed/2-bath, includes all appliances, plus a small washer and dryer, and far better maintenance. The rent is only slightly higher than we pay now. We have applied and are waiting their response. Lord willing, we plan to begin moving mid-August. We are shooting for a 15-day overlap between the two to ensure we can move everything and get the old place clean to our standards.

RE: Rehoming - forrealone - 07-11-2023

I am so happy you found another, better place!  I will pray this moment that whoever it is that decides on applicants is persuaded in accordance with His Will.

Just what I want to read halfway through my morning eggs.  Wink Fortunately I don't get queasy about things like this.

Good on the hopefully new place. Having to deal with faulty construction is the worst.
