Full Version: Just Routine Stuff

This is a prayer request, not a fund-raiser. There's no hurry at all; it's just routine maintenance that needs provision from God.

I sense that, as part of my conditional withdrawal from the Internet, I will have to ditch most of my computer hardware. That's a lot of stuff. But I still need to communicate over the Net for now, so I still need at least one tool for that. I feel led to pray for a Chromebook, and I want you to pray with me. It's not a critical asset; I'm sure I could do with out it. Still, it is probably the best tool for how I sense things are going. It will just about enable communications and the books revision/reformat project. Meanwhile, it will demand far less time from me compared to just about any other operating system. I don't mind advising folks about computer stuff, but I'm tired of actually having to do so much of it.

Which brings up another, related prayer request: I'm hoping in the near future to address some older church folks on computer security issues. An acquaintance of mine is trying to organize at least one class with some folks at her church, some of whom already know me. I'll offer some of my excess computer hardware to them, as well. This will be a computer class, not anything else, but you know how the Lord can turn human plans into something else.
"...but you know how the Lord can turn human plans into something else."
Yeah, I do.
Chromebooks are pretty good from what I've seen. My parents use one.

I will pray today when I remember to. Phone alarms as reminders is a method I've learned.
Give me a couple of days.
I've ordered a Chromebook. The Lord was gracious, allowing me to stumble across something in the mid-range at half-price. No word on addressing any groups, though.

 Coolsies... aaaaaaah!
My apologies, I've been overexposed to Zoomerspeak and it comes out at random. Ahem... let me correct myself.
Cool.
There we go, much better.
I had to wait awhile to type a response because I was laughing too hard, Iain.

For those who care, it's a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2, the cheaper of the two versions. May the Lord glorify Himself through it's use.
