I took this photo last night, in the local mall parking lot, after a mini-golf game with my sun. The weather varied throughout the day, from sunny to cloudy to a little rain, all of which I think helped with the color somehow--I'm not good with meteorological details.

I wanted to get a photo from one of the nearby mall exits, that sit atop of a nice hill, but there was construction and traffic there at the time. Not the greatest situations to get out of the car.

Please ignore the reflection of our car dashboard's touchscreen, on the center right of the sky. It's not a UFO.
Nice shot! Didn't even notice the windshield reflection til you mentioned it. Lol
Excellent shot. The coloration for sunset indicates a high pressure zone somewhere just west of your location. A high pressure ridge holds lots of particles that scatter the blue part of the spectrum and lets the red pass through. It typically heralds good weather for the next day. In your case, there's a high pressure dome over Nebraska this morning and the low-pressure cyclone has been pushed up north of the Great Lakes. You get a cold front today, but rain is out in front of it. It's got a high pressure ridge behind it, so the weather should stay clear for you. Me: I'm getting rain all day today.

The reflection is cool it gives it the sci fi look. I think so anyway. Sometimes sci fi accidentally stumbles on a truth, which is probably why I still like it.
